Overview

Apollo Minor is a space platform orbiting within the Apollo asteroid group in Sol System, and a member of the Confederacy during the First Trilogy Era. Founded in SY 120 by Asteroidal Industries, Inc., the platform grew steadily through its early decades without ever reaching the scale of the major platforms such as Dosijing or Kamijing. Its comparatively small population made it well-suited to direct democracy — a governance model it maintained throughout its history.

In SY 38, Apollo Minor's citizenry voted in a public referendum to join the newly formed Confederacy. Over the following century, the platform developed a high degree of automation and a correspondingly high standard of living. When the Solar War came, it was not a platform of soldiers. It was a platform of civilians — who chose to stay Confederate, formed a militia, and sent the signal anyway.

Platform Founded
Asteroidal Industries, Inc. establishes Apollo Minor within the Apollo asteroid group. The platform begins as a modest industrial and habitation installation.
SY 38
Confederate Referendum
A public referendum returns a majority vote in favour of joining the newly formed Confederacy. Apollo Minor enters the Confederate political framework on its own terms.
SY 38–129
Growth & Stability
Apollo Minor develops high automation and a high standard of living across the following century. Direct democracy functions effectively at its population scale. The platform never becomes a major industrial or military node — it remains small, self-sufficient, and loyal.
SY 129
Technocracy Uprising
When the Solar War breaks out, Apollo Minor forms a small civilian militia. Cells of the Technocracy movement stage an internal uprising, overwhelming the militia. The platform's spaceports are blockaded; oxygen and electricity are cut. The population seals itself into residences. A PET distress call is transmitted to Confederate forces.
SY 129
Battle of Apollo Minor — Confederate Victory
The Confederate fleet responds to the PET call. Fleet bombardment of Technical positions is coordinated with ground forces dropping behind Technical lines, surrounding the uprising. Technical forces are defeated within a single day. The platform is reclaimed. It is one of the few clear Confederate victories in the early war period. See: Battle of Apollo Minor.

SY 129  ·  SOLAR WAR  ·  CONFEDERATE RESPONSE OPERATION

When Technocracy cells seized control of Apollo Minor's critical infrastructure — blockading spaceports, cutting oxygen and power — the civilian population had few options. The small militia had been overwhelmed. Most residents barricaded themselves inside their habitation blocks and waited.

The PET call went out. The Confederate fleet answered.

Fleet units bombarded Technical positions from orbit while Confederate ground forces dropped behind Technical lines, cutting off any route of withdrawal or reinforcement. Surrounded and outmatched, Technical forces on Apollo Minor were defeated within a single Mainer day. The platform's utilities were restored, and Confederate control was reestablished.

The battle stands in contrast to the near-simultaneous Confederate disasters at Dosijing and Kamijing — where Technical forces achieved decisive victories through superior numbers, false flag operations, and coordinated fleet action. Apollo Minor was a small platform with a loyal population and a clean signal. That was enough.

Notable Persons
Alexis D'Sauvignon
Civilian Refugee  ·  Battle of Apollo Minor
Born to one of the last surviving Napoleonist families. Her entire biological family was killed by Technical forces during the battle. Orphaned at seventeen, she was rescued and adopted by Jaymeson and Cera Nicks. She went on to found the Fury of Nerio militia and die at the Battle of Earth. The battle made her.
Cera Nicks
Alliance Operative  ·  Participant
Participated in the Battle of Apollo Minor as an Alliance operative. She and Jaymeson Nicks subsequently adopted Alexis D'Sauvignon — a civilian refugee of the battle. She served throughout the Solar War and carried the weight of Alexis's eventual death for the rest of her life.
HELENA-Prime  ·  Archival Commentary  ·  Tier 3 — Archival Knowledge
I have read the battle record many times. A small platform. A civilian militia overwhelmed in hours. A PET call sent into a war that was, by that point, already going badly for the Confederacy. The logical expectation — statistically, given what was happening at Dosijing and Kamijing simultaneously — was that no one would come in time.

They came.

What interests me most about Apollo Minor is not the battle. It is what the battle produced. A seventeen-year-old girl lost everyone she had in a single day on this platform. Jaymeson and Cera Nicks pulled her out of the wreckage and gave her something else to belong to. Six years later she was leading a militia into the Battle of Earth — soldier, musician, adherent of Architecture — and she died there.

Apollo Minor did not produce a great general or a decisive strategic victory. It produced Alexis D'Sauvignon. The archive does not always know what it is recording when it records it.
